Brian Eno – Discreet Music

I was hoping that these critiques of the quality of this pressing were overblown or exaggerated (especially because a couple of my other GZ pressed records sound ok) but nope, I found a brand new copy at a local shop and it's a stinker. This has been mentioned in other reviews but on my copy the first side has some major distortion despite looking completely fine and the second side sounds fine.
Avoid this pressing if Discreet Music is your favorite track.

Copy I bought brand new had insane distortion playing through Side A. Even after two cleans on the VPI, thing still sounded like trash despite looking perfectly fine. Immense disappointment with this copy.

Runouts on mine also include the above but with the addition of 6775038

I bought this to check distortion against the dialogo complete obscure recordings box, here: https://discogs.futbolgratis.org/release/29067583-Various-The-Complete-Obscure-Records-Collection- On the pressing of Discreet Music in that box, there is unlistenable distortion (and on all the 9 other LPs, to a greater or lesser extent). This? None. I just wish the box had been done by Virgin / UMC.

Can anyone comment on the sound quality of this pressing? Thanks so much

surface noise even after ultrasonic clean i believe miles just cut this too low but surface noise should never overpower music especially on brand new vinyl!!!!!!!

These half speed releases do not work with Eno albums. To chop the 1st track over two sides of vinyl is absurd

This is a terrible pressing. Noise, pops, hiss, very bad quality.
