Does anyone know the original track that the "Flute" sample was used from? I've been trying to crack that one for a while. Thanks

Aside from 'Go Bang' by Dinosaur L, that main conga led house break goes right back to the source to 'Happy Song' by Rare Earth'. Weighing in at well under half a minute, DJ's like Francois K (One half of Dinosaur L along side the late Arthur Russell) & Walter Gibbon's used to spin 2x copies of Rare earth to extend the break, making it most likely one of the first 'proto' house break's to gain notoriety in New York, & becoming the most sampled 4/4 break in the 1st wave of House Music. This was NY mind, and so in Chicago a different style was emerging via Italo Disco & various influences. Todd here pays homage, while in more recent times, Todd's tracks & the Rare Earth 'Happy-break' have been the focus of attention for many a Jock from Jeff Mills, through to Ben Simms & the Killa Bite series. Aside from the historical gubbins, 'Bango' just gets better as the years ... Solid.

I just got a copy of this with Bango on one side of the vinyl and Back To The Beat on the other side of the vinyl but The Y label for Back To The Beat is pressed on both sides. So both labels are marked Y with Back To The Beat as the song but one of the sides is Bango...Has anyone else come across a copy like this one?

Having just listened to the Bleep - A Guide To Electronic Music compilation I've just discovered Bango is sampled from Dinosaur L's "Go Bang": http://discogs.futbolgratis.org/Dinosaur-L-Go-Bang-5-Clean-On-Your-Bean-1/master/8343 - but then I guess everyone knew that but me, doh!

Two classic acid house tracks here that blend Freestyle beats and loops taken from a number of records as well as Marylin Monroe's famous giggle that features in Bango.
Both sides are absolutely littered with samples from various sources one of which came from Kevin Saunderson's track ''The Sound'', Kevin then shortly after released ''Back To The Beat (With The Sound) that sampled Todd Terry, this was seen by many as a retaliation gesture due to Todd Terry's use of the sample in Back To The Beat.
The production is very raw and on some (if not all)copies of this if you listen to the B side it sounds as though some of the samples are leaking into another channel as you can still hear the samples very distant in the background before they are re-added to the mix.
Both tracks on this are timeless and can be played to maximum effect nowadays,
this is Todd Terry back in the day doing what he did best!
