Aroop Roy is a producer, musician and label head, who s the dots between electronic music and borderless organic sounds. From house, garage and techno to jazz, disco and global rhythms, he has enjoyed universal acclaim as a producer and DJ.
Aroop's sets are full of personality, style and infectious groove, earning him a growing reputation as a uniquely gifted DJ. In the last few years, he has been enjoying huge momentum, causing wild scenes at places like Fabric, Koko and Hi Ibiza and lighting up festivals including Defected Croatia, Lost Village, Worldwide and We Out Here. He is a resident for Defected Broadcasting House and has recorded guest mixes for the likes of BBC, NTS, Rinse and Jazz FM.

Showcasing his skills as digger and tastemaker, Aroop's label Vive La Musique reissues and reworks rare eclectic sounds from around the world, from Caribbean Zouk and Congolese Rumba to French jazz-fusion and South African soul. The catalogue has been celebrated by tastemakers across the scene with the recent offering "In the Fast Lane" receiving rave reviews for uncovering the historical connections between French virtuoso Jean-Luc Ponty and the Detroit techno movement.
