**Heads up the https://discogs.futbolgratis.org/release/22471831-Duke-Ellington-John-Coltrane-Duke-Ellington-John-Coltrane pressing as of April 2022 is noticeably different in quality than previous ones in this series. Specifically the vinyl is about 20grams lighter and jacket noticeably flimsier. Don't know if this means that QC is about to fall but nonetheless this is quite disappointing. Taking nothing away from the obvious audio quality which is still stellar, only speaking to the actual manufacturing and pressing quality. Fingers crossed this is just a blip on the radar.

All the records I have in this series sound great mastering wise but they haven't been without problems. I've had loads of defects with these and can't buy them anymore unless I can return the defective copies no questions asked. I've had dished copies, edge warps, records with chunks taken out of the lead-in grooves, off-center records, ripped jackets, seam splits, etc. Rarely do I get a copy I'm willing to settle with on the first try.

These are ~$40 each now so no excuses. Stoughton needs to figure out a way to make better, more durable jackets and QRP needs to tighten up QC.

I have all titles from this series. All in perfect condition, flat, silent and great mastering. I pre-order all of them to be sure. Very serious contenders to AP-45 releases.

My first purchase was Oliver Nelson's - blues and the abstract truth. Excellent sound!!!! Superior gatefold cover, high quality repress!!!
BUT REMINDED ME some Blue Note Tone Poet vinyls which i do have! EXACTLY THE SAME! Like they came from the same industry!

On par with the Blue Note Tone Poet series... in other words, pretty damned awesome. Highly recommended.

I have the entire series to date (12), and I have had zero issues with the quality control on any of them. A few of the titles do have some distortion that carried over from the master tapes, but that is to be expected in an all analog series.

what a joke, misplaced labes and bad song titles on labels on jazz classics like "a love supreme", this is how much they pay attention to details. Delaying represses so that the prices skyrocket. No for such moves and marketing, pathetic money-grubbing!

I put a spell on you Nina Simone , sounds amazing on par with blue notes tone poet series. The cover is beautiful very high quality. Im an old studio musican and you can hear and feel the dynamics of real tape. The proof is in the listening just use your ears.

It'd be nice if they'd go a step beyond the AAA hype sticker and include some real notes in the packaging about tape condition, what they did, what they left and why. Similar to the notes Bruce Botnick did for the Doors' Bright Midnight live releases.
