Jacobs Studios

Profile:

British recording studio, now closed down, was used by numerous well known bands.
Jacobs studios was built into an old Georgian farmhouse set in the Surrey countryside near Farnham. It was set up by Andy and Fran Fernbach who had previously had a 16 track studio (Vivatone) in their home. They moved into Ridgeway House in January 1980 to set up their new residential studio, named Jacobs after a breed of sheep that were farmed in the area.
The location consisted of two recording studios with digital and analogue capabilities, mixing and editing suites.
The residential facilities included 8 double bed rooms, a swimming pool and a tennis court.

The Fernbachs sold Ridgway House more than a decade ago and it was for sale (sans studio, now a gym) as recently as 2019.
