Mayfair Studios closed in December 2008.

The studio was first founded in the 1950s by composer Arthur Rye (Reg Dwight, could be found sessioning there. Renamed 'Mayfair Studios' in June 1971, the studio was then taken over in 1979 and refurbished by John & Kate Hudson. In 1981, with 5 of their recordings in the Top 20, the studio moved to larger premises in London's Primrose Hill.
