Burial – Burial

man this pressing is sooo good. the vinyl are nice and heavy, and the grooves for the songs are HUGE, so the actual music is pretty loud and punchy. i think my copy has some minor clicks on some tracks, but you can never tell with Burial because he always has vinyl crackle in the music ;)

Does anyone else have a problem with the pressing? My CD is making a swishing noise as it's turning around in my Technics player. Like it's off balance or maybe a few millimeters larger than it should be. I have over 3000 CDs and the only other one that's doing the same is a bootleg pressing of a Stooges album. I checked the runoff matrix listed here and my Burial CD is genuine. Baffled.

This feels like the right track order to me. To find out retrospectively that the lyrics to Spaceape is the man describing his battle with cancer was quite an affecting moment for me. I knew those lyrics inside out for years, but never made sense of them. As soon as I read that, it all became crystal clear and totally heartbreaking. Anyway, for that track to then be followed by Prayer I'm certain was the intent. The track itself is this amazing balance of the feelings of watching someone go through something like this. Slow bitter melancholy, but with this driving core of palpable physiological anger in the rhythm. I can't actually think off the top of my head of any track that has felt so emotionally accurate. If my thoughts have any truth to them at all!

This album and pressing is unreal. The ambience is so deep and so chilling. Perfect pressing imo.

bro if you wanna write something get this on, am returning to this as I heard it before untrue, maybe that's why it gives me shivers ing the city lights, off ramps and dripping water making my way through sydney life on my own for the first time - gutted

I somehow ended up with a copy that contains two disc ones and zero disc twos. If someone out there has the counterpart and wants to trade, let me know!

Incredible piece of wax! Probably the most silent vinyl I have in my collection. The pressing is really out of this world. Dynamic, clean and the music speaks for itself..
