Beautiful sounding reissue on Suction. Hope there is more Rephlexian reissues from the early to mid 90's coming!

honestly just one of the best. diagram vii 80s makes me nostalgic for a time and place i've never experienced, yet know so well. absolutely stunning. diagram xi is also gorgeous. somewhere in time is gritty AF. in love wit da whole damn thing.

Diagram VII (80's Mix) is probably one of the best songs to come out of 1996. And that was a great year of music, which saw loads of amazing releases. The song sounds at first so simple and catchy, but when listened to a 2nd, 3rd, 4th time, etc etc., you really start to notice it's hidden complexity. Brilliant tune.

Diagram VII (80's Mix) is a masterpiece of electronic music, a little pitch to an higher bpm and its at its best. That´s one of the reason i am hearing techno........ Played on one of my tape´s in ostgut in the year 1996.

On listen I thought I was listening to a lost Aphex Twin EP! The ep starts of with 3 ear crunching Idm/Braindance tracks using looped drill n bass, crunching beats, layered with dark synth patterns with some razor like electro that pierces through the industrial-techno-idm backbone. Tracks 1-3 wouldn't sound out of place from the tougher apocalyptic Idm/techno as from Aphex Twin / Polygon Window compilation 'Classics' & 'Surfing on Synewaves' albums... Tracks 4-6 change direction leaning towards a more ambient-techno/Idm approach with none of the noise grind experimental rawness of the first three tracks. Definitely a more calmer Idm-ambient-techno approach built around less harsh but softer melodic techno melodies, 4/4 looped beats, and swirling synth background ambient that's probably more in-line with Aphex Twin's 'Selected Ambient 85-92' plus 'I Care Because U Do' style of calmer ambient-Idm-techno. Its certainly a less pounding listen to the ears compared to tracks 1-3. Overall a excellent release with a very good selection of tracks showcasing both the hard, and the calmer side to D'arcangelo's style of braindance experimental music across Idm, techno, ambient, and electro which can hold its own in the Aphex ambient-braindance genre. Recommended.
