Notes
"Str8 Off Tha Streetz Of Muthaphukkin Compton" follows up Eazy-E's 1988 solo debut "Eazy-Duz-It". The album was released nearly a year after his death from AIDS on March 26th, 1995.
Work for the album first began around 1989 under the name "Temporary Insanity", but the project had been abandoned and the release date had been revised on several occasions. Originally announced release dates for 1992, 1993 and 1994 had come and gone, and Eazy ended up releasing the EPs "The Chronic") instead of his second album during that period. It was also around that period that Eazy had changed the name of his second album from "Temporary Insanity" to "Str8 Off Tha Streetz Of Muthaphukkin Compton". After years of delays and Eazy's death from AIDS on March 26th, 1995, the album was finally released in 1996, likely in early February.

If anyone has a nice clean jacket for this album they don't want anymore please me. I only have a generic jacket and would appreciate a proper one.

Just scored a clean OG with a generic jacket for $10 CDN. I've had the OG CD since day 1. Love this album. Both dark and humorous at the same time.

This version is sukish af, the fake scratch area that cannot be scratched is a joke, since it has just been poorly scanned...
Very scanty pressing, avoid it -
soooooo.
"The album was released nearly a year after his death from AIDS on March 26th, 1995"
And also "Relase Date 1995"
Thanks discogs, you contradict yourself more than the bible -
Sounds great on vinyl, clear and loud.
As an album I also think it great, pure Eazy E lyrics and delivery, great spoken intros to songs, and a great variation of samples from acoustic guitar to pure Funk and dance. Also some dreamy/psychedelic stuff like Wut Would You Do. Ignore the critics, this is a great album. -
location : a temple of mass-consumption, a supermarket.
time : few years ago, i was quite young. I already knew NWA but i was not ready for...
the twilight zone : I entered into it when i grabbed that CD that was for sale. I saw a black man on the cover and my rap instinct told me "buy it"...
Since then this album has followed in my various rap adventures.
I like this album as it flatters my evil side. Easy-E is ruthless in his verses, but with a cool gansgsta style. He invites you into his world of crazyness, guns and women. He is disreectful with women, he spat to anyone trying to diss him, but he is untouchable.
as usual, this album meets my #1 criteria "it made you look". When u listen "Just tah let U know", how could not you be E on the Compton's street? This track is is the landmark of the album. u gotta love it, it can't be otherwise. The repeating female voice is so catchy all over the track. to understand how good Easy is on that track, listen the accapella. Surprisingly it is a bit dissapointing. But with Easy rhymes, the perfect match is there.
"Gangsta beat 4 tha Street" is the love anthem for the hussling streets. This track brings a need to chill and to be in the car with the 3 rappers. The female rapper balances the ego-trip style of the other male rappers, but still it is very punchy.
Fuck my Baby mama is just hilarious (as said before it's flattering our bad instincts, as insulting a woman is not sth that i will do on normal basis).
Yella productions are amazing, don't miss them.
The cover and leaflet inside are very creative, pure gangsta style.
overall of course 5 stars. RIP easy-E
