Notes

The song "At The Hop" written by Artie Singer, John Medora, and David White in 1957 when they were still called "The Juvenairs" before evolving into their new name "Danny & the Juniors". Initially called "Do The Bop" the song was heard by Dick Clark who expressed concern that the dance fad of doing "The Bop" was on its way out, so he suggested they change the song name and the chorus from "Let's All Do The Bop" to "Let's Go To The Hop". After which they performed the song on Clark's show American Bandstand, and it quickly gained popularity and went to the top of the US charts, remaining at number one for five weeks.

It was also released just a few months later on Dot records by Nick Todd aka Cecil Altman Boone who was the younger brother of Pat Boone At The Hop / I Do trying to capitalize on the songs success but it failed.

GREATEST Doo- Wop & Early Rock 'n Roll Record! This is the original pressing on the Obscure Singular Label. This particular pressing was only available for a few short weeks. Shortly after this Single was released, in 1957, Danny & The Juniors went on The Ed Sullivan Show, & they were soon signed to ABC Paramount Records, who then Re-released At The Hop, leaving the old Singular copies to fall into Obscurity. Even Harder to find, is the Version on Singular that had the original Intro. Very Rare & Very Cool! 📻🎼🎶

One of the great rock & roll dance singles of all time. Nobody can sit down through this one. First record by kids out of Philadelphia, went right to Number One after it's national release in December, 1957 on ABC-Paramount and stayed there for 7 weeks. Spent 18 weeks on Billboard Top 40. Originally released earlier that year on local label Singular, was featured on American Bandstand and became a regional hit in Philadelphia. Trivia: Artie Singer owner of Singular changed the band's name from The Juvenairs and changed the title and lyrics from "Do The Bop" to "At The Hop"
