referencing Pan-Americana (LP, Album, Stereo) SDBR 1004
SDBR-1004 1958 so an early Belock but some have a "35mm tape" white sticker which may have been misleading as I think this is surely a standard three track half inch tape recording. The sound is very strong and as good as the Decca Mantovani or Edmundo Ros (the arrangements are very similar) albums of the same time. It's a great shame the Everest light music catalogue (which is now owned by Universal Music I believe) hasn't been remastered to modern digital high definition standards and released on CD - even SACD and DVD-AUDIO - in the same way as the classical and jazz back catalogue. There are some really delightful and nostalgic releases in there which deserve this pristine presentation of which this is just one. The Essential Media CDs are better than nothing I suppose, but many have clearly been transferred crudely from inferior domestic two track tape sources or even LPs!
