This is AAA mastering from Kevin Gray and sounds absolutely fire. Rhythm section feels so present.
Was especially delighted to get #001! -
Does anyone know if this is an all-analog pressing? I see that the VMP exclusive which was released the same year has many praising its AAA quality and Kevin Gray's cut. This Craft issue is also cut by Kevin Gray but I can't see anyone talking about it being all-analog from the master tapes. Would be happy to know if someone can help.

Edited one year agoI was shocked as to how well this reissue sounds, immense soundstage and very clear instrument separation! Another keeper by Craft and Fania. -
one of the best Salsa LPs of all time. "El dia de mi suerte" is a real killer, Hector Lavoe is the best singer, his voice is touching!

The only reason I give this four stars is because I have to save one to give to "Cosa Nuestra" which has the edge over this one on killer tracks. Sound - as good as you could want for a reissue, cover - clear they didn't have the original art. -
Very good edition, great mastering by Kevin Gray with a warm, dynamic sound. Excellent instruments separation and soundstage. My copy is flat and centered, a tiny bit of noise in between some tracks (silent grooves) but that’s not a problema at all.
Music is spectacular, no bad tracks or low moments, 100% listening pleasure (imho). -
AAA Kevin Grey mastering of Willie Colon = :). Get it while it's hot, get it while it's buttered.

Whether this is high resolution digital or analog master tapes, it sounds great and my copy was perfect, except for noise in two seconds of one track. After cleaning on my VPI RCM, that noise was essentially reduced to two hard-to-hear thumps. Otherwise, perfect. Craft! Keep up the great work!

Another great Willie Colón record. Kevin Gray's superb AAA mastering makes this a fun listen and well worth owning. Kudos to Craft for continuing to release these Fania titles. -
Unfortunately mine has a bit of distortion on the very best track of the album…bummer :(
