If you're interested in getting this copy I can thoroughly recommend it, this is the only pressing of the album I've listened to but it sounds wonderful, rich and full; the drums especially fill up the space very well in the mix. And a great album. -
Edited one month agoJust received this. Nearly identical thoughts with my "Dire Straits" SYEOR review. Copy acquired in Apr 2025 by Amazon.ca. My copy does NOT come with a SYEOR sticker. It is a good and relatively quiet pressing but not a great one. While the cut by Bernie Grudman is great, the pressing could be better. Minus one star for the cheap matte print quality, which on my copy is "Printed in Canada". Overall very good but not great, but it's also affordable so...

Edited 2 months agoThis entry should possibly be split in two. One of the runout variants indicates the LP was pressed at Quality Records, Toronto - Var 1): SRM-1-3791-A-2 SNB.JD Q. The rest of the variants from 2 to 5 indicate those LPs were pressed at the Columbia/CBS Record Pressing Plant, in Don Mills, Ontario - Var 3): SRM-1-3791-A SNB-se DM-3. Q = Quality Records. DM = CBS, Don Mills.

Just got this for a decent price,usual average for used but wow,nothing between tracks,beautiful sounding not even at my usual listening db -

After many plays, I can say it sounds great, and tops recent re-issues. -

Update: This is one of my favourite albums, so since my Singapore press sounded so good, I figured surely a highly regarded Japanese pressing will sound better?
So I bought this https://discogs.futbolgratis.org/release/4372419-Dire-Straits-Communiqué but it turns out, I still prefer my humble Singapore press!
