Notes
"Very" is the fifth Pet Shop Boys' studio album and their seventh full-length release overall, released on 27 September 1993 in the UK.
"Very" is Pet Shop Boys' first album to reach number one in the UK albums chart.
The release campaign was characterized by unusual CD packaging, described by Chris Lowe as an attempt to "make the actual [CD] box the cover." Each of the special CD packages cost Neil and Chris forty pence, deducted from their royalties. A limited edition (reportedly limited to 15,000 copies), "Very Relentless", included a bonus six-track album of mainly instrumental tracks. Relentless was also released as a limited 3-12" promo (Relentless).
Please also note The Very Pet Shop Boys Sampler.
The album was reissued in 2001 with a second disc of bonus material as part of the Further Listening series.
Singles from the album:
• Can You Forgive Her?
• Go West
• I Wouldn't Normally Do This Kind Of Thing
• Liberation
• Yesterday, When I Was Mad
• Absolutely Fabulous (The Single) (non-album single from the same era)
Studio albums:
• Bilingual
Full length releases:
• Disco 2

I bought this album on CD 30 years ago (I was 18) and it was quite playable. Even after all this time I still like the album. This vinyl sounds great. The pressing is impeccable and the record is flat. I recommend it.
Played on:
Technics SL-100C, Audio Technica VM-95C/E/ML (depending on record condition and taste), Rega Fono Mini A2D MK2, Technics SU-G700M2, Yamaha NS-777 -

referencing Very (CDr, Compilation, Promo, Remastered) none
is the mastering any different from the retail cd? - -
I wonder why Forever in Love is listed as previously unreleased? Just because it's shorter than on Relentless?

I just pre-ordered the limited yellow lp edition of Relentless off their site. Not cheap, but will probably hold some value in the future.
-
. . . the 6-track Relentless is to be released October 20 on yellow vinyl. Wonderful.
The vinyl is only available by pre-order on the PSB official site. -
oh . . . and I forgot to mention the UK, 500 pressing, 12" promo, of Relentless on powder-puff pink, blue and yellow vinyl . . .
Unlike the rubber number CD, that vinyl promo pressing DID NOT state / brag "limited", but it truly was and always was a bit of a holy grail, one I was a bit lazy with and didn't manage to obtain. -
A different perspective; I disagree with MrDayInTheUK’s below reply to franksrecords.
I always liked this rubber wallet version of the Very Relentless album and bought it on the day it was released, when Woolworths still existed. It really is a cool little package (!) and the best way of owning this album (apart from a double Russian CD too hot to handle). So, I too was a bit surprised the price hardly, if ever, went up. This neat, quirky rubber number, Very Relentless, has always been available on the second hand market and at a decent price. The simple fact is Very Relentless is not rare, not so "limited". 15,000 copies – the question regarding its collectability value really is as simple as that.
For rare check out: the Wake Up 10” acetate, The Truck Driver and His Mate 12” promo, some of the many and obscure remixes from the Bilingual era. The annuals with their CDs, rare promo CDs such as Try It, Love etc. The earlier vinyl pressings under the X2 label. A lot of the vinyl low-number pressings, pressed during the gloomy no-vinyl years, around 2000. The vinyl box set anthologies and their promo editions such as Introspective, Alternative, Pop Art and Disco Four. Finally, vinyly (trumpet fanfare), the beautifully produced Vinyl factory pressings for PSB, all three albums of which are pure works of art. Prices in the thousands for some of these items. PSB is certainly in good company with DM and NO as far as collectability value is concerned (but it's not really the most interesting discussion in the first place.)
Desirability and quality of the music affects collectability and price; but so too is the actual number of items released. You can’t just call something “limited” and pretend it is rare. And as mentioned, not sure of the too-loose comparison to DM and NO as both these groups have produced collectable and non-collectable stuff . . . all three are great groups.
