referencing The Sign (Remixes) (CD, Maxi-Single) MRCXCD 2636
I rated with 5 Stars because The CD + Label are in Very Good Condition and plays well. Some scracth in the Suitcase, but it's all OK. -
It is worth noting that the instrumental on Side B is actually a recreated instrumental. It uses the drums from the intro of the song to help it sound authentic but everything past that point is entirely new to this version. It isn't a horrible recreation, if you are a casual listener, it is good enough, but for someone who is a big fan of the band, I can tell it is not the original. A few things about it make me think it was made without band input, either, which is disheartening. I thought we would be finally getting a proper instrumental version of this song, but alas. -
Edited 4 years agoBadly dished. I knew as soon as I put it on, and it wasn't flush to the platter.. Once the stylus hit the record, the record just stopped, and the platter kept spinning !
Fortunately I've got a record clamp/weight, and that 'solves' the problem.. I know people will say "Who buys a picture disc for listening?" but it would be nice if the record actually played; that's surely not asking for much... -

Young and Proud is underwhelming and the Ultimix is too long but the sign is FIRE -
Note that the 6:44 "Ultimix" which appears on any of these commercial releases is actually an edit of the 'true' Ultimix version
That full length 9:01 version appears only on the Ultimix remix service issue #50 - http://discogs.futbolgratis.org/Various-Ultimix-50-Special-Edition/release/3076252 It contains more break work and samples, particularly from their other hit "All That She Wants".
