Magazine – Real Life

Just gave this a listen for the first time in many years. One of the first "new wave" records I bought in the 70s. Pleasantly surprised. I always made cassette copies of new records so it's mostly quiet. A good pressing. Deep soundstage on my P6 with Ortofon Bronze. Lots of high end. Bass is ok.

This is the best pressing of this record. There's no other copy of this album that sounds so detailed and clear with a wide soundstage. Before listening to this copy, I thought the Dutch version was better, but even though the Dutch version is good, the Japanese version is definitely a godsend.
I'm very happy with my vinyl. I love Japan in this era of pressings.

I think the Stone Roses must’ve liked this album 😉

Don't know why they omitted the text from the front cover on this, but it looks great without so I shan't complain. Remaster is good, pressing is decent if not perfect (a handful of quiet clicks here and there), liner notes are a nice addition. Well worth your money as it's the best-sounding copy you'll get without spending twice or thrice as much on a near mint earlier pressing.

Agree with the others - this is a really good pressing. I also like the quality of the cover / cardboard, nice to touch. I knew just one track when I bought the record, but it has become one of my all-time favourites.

What plays on the B-side of the mispress is a different artist?

My copy has a black polylined inner sleeve with the twins on a dragon virgin logo and virgin records address, can anyone confirm if this was original with the release? Mine also has three dots embossed near the center of the B-side label which match the three dots in the runout, anyone else have this?

I have the coloured twins label and black/white twins label of this album - the coloured twins version has a more rigid heavier feel to the disc.
