Mine sounds perfecto right out of the shrink. One of the best sounding records I’ve bought in a while if I’m being real. -
Edited 18 hours agoIt’s a good pressing. Soundwise it is for sure the best version of pompeii by any stretch, but given the fact it was recorded so poorly, it is still pretty far from being an audiophile record.

I clean every record, new or used. 1st purchase had a lot of crackle, surface scratches, some routine clicks/pops (the worst imo). Returned, 2nd purchase is 99% perfect. Some minor surface noise towards the end if the last song on side B, not annoying. Amazing music, a must have for and Pink Floyd fan. -
Edited 2 days ago4 copies returned to Amazon, and all had lots of clicks, pops, crackles, some scratches, dish warps, and split sleeves.
Cleaning didn't help. Sound quality is awesome though. The level of disappointment is very high. -
My US copy sounded great right out of the package. As always I use a velvet brush and a separate micro fiber brush before playing any vinyl on my turntable. The gatefold jacket is beautiful, and the poster is nice as well. No warping issues with mine either, nice and flat. Glad to have this historic performance on vinyl. I was on the fence if I should gamble on the US version vs. the UK, but wanted to make sure to let others know that you shouldn't be completely scared off from the US copies. If you're nervous, maybe purchase through somewhere you could return it if you are unhappy (like Amazon). Otherwise please your local record stores when possible.

My is great! I always clean my records before playing. Used or new always do it and you’ll get better results

Edited 6 days agoMy copy (EU) is flawless. Sounds phenomenal right out of the sealed packaging. Surreal and enveloping sound. -

Finally a definitive version of Pompeii in all its glory! It’s the EU pressing btw with obi strip and it sounds fantastic! -
probably best sounding LP I own.. (EU release) very happy with my copy
