Not a bad pressing. Slight repeating tick near end of side A. Not terrible but it does appear. Otherwise sounds fine. Wish this was a bit more dynamic sounding cause these songs really bang, but otherwise good

Edited 2 years agoMy copy arrived today. 2LP, black vinyl, sticker outside,
code, enclosed sticker with „Trutone Mastering NY Carl 3-21" etched in the deadwax on side 1-4
Sounds is great. -

It appears this was remastered in March 2021. I bought a copy at their show in LA on November 15 and this one has "Trutone Mastering NY Carl 3-21" etched in the deadwax. Sounds great!

Yep mates,to be honest and as a huge fan of The Black Angels and if you want a correct sound : buy the regular black version or the cd.. I've got both of the regular and the RSD 2017 and the last one is just horrible !!! Sad but true .. Surface noise on every side,on the quiet part you only listen this noise.. Too bad... But the black version is cool and with very less surface noise .
-
Rummaged around and read that later pressings of this had the sound issues fixed. Just picked up a new copy and can confirm it sounds stellar. ✨
-
First two tracks on C side have near-to-be-unbearable static in the right channel. Other than that, only tolerable nuances with outstanding music as it is.
-
Edited 7 years agoMy copy had bit of static noise coming out of the right channel, mostly on Side A. I gave it a clean and although it's still there, it's muted. Not noticable on speakers but can be a little annoying with headphones. Apaprt from that, fantastic packaging and presentation and tunes are sweet.

The Black Angles new album Death Song was written and recorded during last year’s toxic election cycle, Death Song finds the band channeling the anxious energy of that time period into some of the heaviest material of their career.
