Still has no equal.
The Speakers Corner is long gone... dull as dishwater, its not been missed. The Acoustic Sounds 33 is far beyond the SC and for the money does everything well. But the AP45 banks the 45rpm cheque and takes what the AS33 does well and expands on it in every metric to reign supreme. BALANCE.is the key word and thats more important in mastering than any treble or bass increases.
I also (stupidly) blew my load on the mastering abomination that is the Impex One Step. I shouldnt have bothered. Its crap.
The AP 45rpm is KING. -

Left and right is wrong.... Otherwise is quite good. As good as non audiofil original release? Not in my opinion. But is really mater of taste.

Flat, quiet vinyl. Wide soundstage combines with this intimate music to really create the illusion that these players are sitting in your listening room and performing. Only Gilberto's voice breaks this illusion; it sounds more like a recording of a voice than like someone actually singing in your presence. Percussion and piano sound extraordinary, so delicate and so alive. You hear every detail of what Getz is doing and it is then up to you to decide whether or not you like it. It is breathy, vibrato-laden playing. I think he captures the spirit of the music beautifully.
Gorgeous record. -
So I’ve just finished A/B-ing the MOFI pressing vs the 45RPM Analogue Productions pressing and here’s my results. The first thing I noticed is the left and right channels are switched between the two pressings which I found kind of odd. As far as the sound goes, they’re both phenomenal pressings. The vocals on the mofi pressing seems to be more bit more forward and present. The low end on the AP pressing is more present and pronounced making the mofi version feel slightly less full. That said, It is nice that the mofi pressing didn’t fall victim to the typical mofi bass bloat. They’re pretty well neck and neck in most aspects, I did seem to catch some slight nuances and details in the mofi pressing that I didn’t hear on the AP, but that could possibly be listener error. Overall you can’t go wrong with either one of these pressings. If you’re on somewhat of a budget get the AP, you’ll be very happy with it. If you’re a mofi collector or a completionist and have the extra cash to spend then get the mofi, to me it was worth getting for sure.
