This is one of the most under-rated LPs of all time. Saw them play this set live at Heaven Charing Cross in 81 - amazing. Brilliantly produced - like a hot tropical night

Quite possibly the finest album ever to emerge from the Factory stable. After the superb "To Each", the sheer musical proficiency of the band really comes to the fore in this wonderful and varied album. Most bands were lucky to have one good bass player - ACR had two - and the rest were also excellent percussionists - and to see them swapping instruments when they played live during this period could only draw iration from those lucky enough to witness them in those halcyon days. From the funky slapping twin basses and breathy lyrics by Martha Tilson of "Lucinda", to the superb bass harmonics of "Rub Down", from the dark and funky "Knife Slits Water" to the brazilian percussive rhythms of "Skipscada", this album has it all, and shows the superb musicians that they were. An absolute classic. I have three copies - two having been played to destruction. Ageless and visionary, clever and quirky, this is a work of musical genius. Get one if you can.

ACR has come back to earth, but still their sound is kinda eerie. It has more jazz and earthly funk and some brazilian influences which made a good LP.

Fantastic album - listen to early Sabres of Paradise stuff and spot the references!
Early eighties 'white funk/jazz' - excellent live percussion and bass.
