Good pressing of this 1978 Eno classic.
Side A and B sound even better than the 2005 CD reissue, some surface noise but that doesn't bother me, unfortunately there's some heavy crackling for the first half of Side C. Side D has no crackling and little to no surface noise. -
On my copy, LP1 had some surface noise, and towards the end of both sides there was an obvious repetitive broad white-noise sound that played with each rotation (maybe ~2-3 minutes). Overall not terribly unpleasant albeit noticeable. LP2 sounds flawless. Pristine actually. -
I have a feeling they just repressed this, as I bought it from the "New Releases" section at Newbury Comics the other day, and it sounds pretty close to perfect.

Edited 5 years agoHave gone through 3 copies now, all had non-fill. I did receive 2 copies where the first disc did not have non-fill, but were pressed off-center and clicked through significant ages with each rotation.
The mastering is phenomenal. It is a real shame that the pressings are flubs. I would wholly recommend this version if they could press a record properly.
