Notes
label B: Originally released in Egypt in 1991
℗ 2019 THANKYOU004, Sound Metaphors
Track A1 misprinted as "Mebsouta" on the back cover, track B2 appears as "Rekka (Bonus Beat Chant)" on the label, missing the final "s" in the word "beats", Arabic track name transliterations do not appear on the release.
"Mabsouta" is an Arabic cover version of Suzanne Vega's "Tom's Diner".
There are no apparent differences between this release and the 2024 pressing سيمون = سيمون - مبسوطة = Mabsouta.

Killer tracks with gorgeous vocals! So nice to have some downtempoish music in Arabic <3 Thanks for the labor

Edited 5 years agoWhen you are hearing music like this, you are wanting to put on tight hot pants, you are wanting to move, you are wanting to boogie, you are wanting to be amongst the sweaty, lustful throng of the dancefloor, you are wanting to reach for the lasers, just before you are wanting to go to the toilet!!

I prefer her very first full-length "Tani Tani", hope someone make a reissue of that long-lost album.

Edited 5 years agoFor me it's the track B2 رقه = Rekka (Bonus Beats). It is a fantastic proto-house/percussive disco tune with repetitive chanting in arabic. Timless treasure!
