Edited one year agoI paid $39 and previously wanted nothing to do with this pressing, because of distortion with the vocal in particular. I also read all the comments about needing the right cartridge/stylus, etc. to track this record. I previously thought that was bunk.
Those comments were right. Once my setup switched to a AT VM-750SH shibata, it’s an entirely different experience. I’m hearing zero distortion and everything came to life. This is a demo LP now! -

Edited 2 years agoSounds magical on my system with an AT VM750SH cart. No sibilance or distortion at all. Just magical warm music and silent vinyl!
-
As overplayed as it is, you cannot escape the magic in this recording, and how phenomenal it sounds on this vinyl pressing.

This album was released in 2002, it's peculiar that is possibile to do an all analog repress like the very old records. Someone knows details about the original recordings and why this album was made originally analogue in 2002?

Beautiful album and pressing! Nothing to complain about here. KG and Analogue Productions did a fabulous job on this one! Nice clean and flat vinyl. Norah's music fills the room with a rich, detailed and warm sound. Very nice!

Klipsch Heresy 3, acoustic solid table, ortofon 2m bronze
wow im actually sad and jealous I didn't get a copy to experience this like others that have reviewed this.
Holy distortion and sibilance , all in her voice, every single peak. all songs, both sides. very disappointing. $75 dollars for this, unfortunately I cant return due to being in Canada, the shipping cost would pretty much defeat the purpose.
When I say distortion, I mean it, it actually hurts my ears at normal listening volume, im not exaggerating. wish I was one of the lucky ones. -
Purchased from Acoustic Sound’s website. This pressing is fantastic. Highly recommend.
Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO - Sumiko Rainier -
Edited 3 years agoOverall, I find this pressing great with 1 exception. On my copy the volume of the track One Flight Down is much lower than all other tracks. To be sure I wasn’t imagining this, I A/B with my Blue Note copy and the volume of this track on the Blue Note LP was consistent with others. Really not sure if I what I hear with this track is unique to this pressing, my copy or an example of distortion mentioned in some other reviews? I otherwise have no complaints, find the SQ spot on. Anyone else hear this?

Audio Bliss. One of the best records you’ll ever listen to. Playing off a Rega, Focal, and Rel system.
