Sounds amazing! On par with Songs for the Deaf 2019 reissue. Huge soundstage and great dynamics. All the instruments cut through so well. The “muddy” guitar tone is intended and can sometimes be confused with compression.
What I absolutely loved about this reissue was how sometimes the guitar came out of my speakers. It’s almost like they were playing through an amp in my room.
The bonus tracks are superb as well! 100% recommend it. -
This pressing sounds fantastic. No noise on my copy at all. Fantastic dynamics and bass throughout. Favorite QOTSA album is just a bonus.

Edited 4 years agoThe sound of this 2019 reissue is not much but still noticably compressed in comparison to the original pressing or the MOV release. Not cut as loud as the other two either. Luckily this reissue has the full tracklist. No surface noise unlike the original pressing on mixed coloured vinyl. Soundwise I prefer the original pressing or the MOV one though.

The first copy I bought came with the discs mixed up - I got two copies of disc one (Once/You, or sides A/B), instead of both discs. The record store swapped the faulty copy for me and the second one was perfectly fine. Having said that, this is a fantastic reissue - lots of detail and mastering is really good. And as everyone else has said, no pops or clicks to be heard here - great pressing.

Just buy this version on a Christmas promotions and I have to say... WOW!!
Years and Years listening the digital version and this is just Amazing Soud!! (I only have a turntable for a week)
Warm, Detailed... every instrument is clear!!

Got the album on CD... Sounds bland with zero dinamics more like a demo than a real album. On this version... It's almost like a new album for me. Worth every Euro that Ive pay for it
-
Best version you can buy at an affordable price, Infinity is one of the best tracks on the album and was missing from the more recent etched vinyl version.
-
Pleasant, warm, detailed and clear sound. Wide stereo with where each instrument has its place. Perfect mastering. Bass in "Tangled up in plaid" is eartastic :-)
-
Wonderful sounding reissue. Flat as a pancake, dynamic and not a pop or click to be heard anywhere. Great job.
