Both sides are superb and it’s got Stevie all over it. What’s not to like.

One of the earliest and most commercially available and well-known black-consciousness rap records. I love the short sung verse by the producer Stevie Wonder. Always loved this.

On the 12" there is some early aspirational rap on the A side from legendary New York poet and radio DJ Gary Byrd.
That I can take or leave...
Flip to the B side and it turns into a feel good mid tempo instrumental chugger without the rap but with nice vocal. There is a bassline and guitar riff Chic would have been proud of...
Stevie Wonder co wrote and produced it, and even play many of the instruments and sneaks in a nice little vocal....
Track Trivia...At 10 minutes 35 seconds, it makes it one of the longest tracks ever to chart in the UK..
