Mine is identical throughout, but hype sticker doesn´t read "Includes digital ". Only difference, cover photo appears slightly cropped on the right and top (enlarged image)
Probably a new black vinyl reissue from the 10th pressing (US, 6/12/2024) as the cover looks identical as this one. Молчат Дома = Молчат Дома - Этажи = Etazhi -
My copy is badly warped. Sending back for a refund.
Came in a cheap, white paper sleeve. Record was dirty and full of sleeve scuffs. -
I got the transparent cola bottle version. Side A sounds ok, but the first few tracks of side B suffer from a consistent pop, almost sounding like static. I tried cleaning and de-stating the record, but nothig helped, so I tend to skip the first 2 songs on side B :(

Edited 2 years agoMy pressing is not the greatest, but I imagine it could be worse.
I give the sound quality a 9/10; It's very loud and bassy, although I do hear a bit of distortion; it's minimal. (Keep in mind that Molchat Doma's albums aren't the most well-recorded things to begin with) The pressing quality, however, is another story.
Side A is a smooth ride with very little surface noise. As previous reviews have stated, there are a few pops and crackles here and there. Side B was somehow much worse - the crackles were more prominent, but then again, the music drowns them out. The record arrived with a few surface scratches and scuffs which I imagine are due in part to the paper sleeve it comes in. (I mean, come ON, haven't we learned that paper sleeves are the mark of the beast already?)
The cherry on top would have to be the side B label - It's off center, so off center in fact that it cuts into the runout groove, meaning that whenever the needle makes its way into the locked center groove you hear a soft "shh" sound, akin to white noise. I've heard this is a common issue, and that my needle should be fine, but it's something to look out for.
Don't take this as me disliking this pressing. If the reviews on Discogs are anything to go off of, this pressing has been fairly well received and I just happened to get the runt of the litter. But in the end, sound quality is all that matters - and the sound on my pressing is completely acceptable, at least in my opinion. -

The worst thing for this release (and others if they include this) aesthetically is having a romanized center label.

Edited 4 years agoOverall, a pretty good pressing. The vinyl has a few dimples but they do not affect sound quality. There is a lot of surface noise (not popping/clicking but a low rumble) but this is not audible during tracks, only in the run-in so not a huge issue. Clearly intended to be a cheaper release - low quality inner sleeve is a dead giveaway. Compared to the insane prices of some of the other pressings of this record, this is definitely the one to go for (if you can find an import copy outside of the US).

Excellent sound, a bit dissappointed becouse the release is too minimalistic in its presentation.Monument had a printed innersleeve, this comes in a genereic white sleeve. They could’ve put it in a poly lined sleeve at least. Cutting costs I guess....at least it sounds fine.
