re: card issues, mine has one, so there must be a statistical chance of getting one (I hesitate to say I was lucky...)
the physical record itself is I think quite fantastic. sounds exactly like demo recordings ought to sound, in fact quite good considering.
it was a spur-of-the-moment purchase, and not a trace of regret! defo worth a listen if you like this album. -
Posting here in case others, like me assumed all copies come with cards. I bought these 5 demo LPs just recently from a very large US-based web store. There is no pattern I can figure out as to which ones come with the sticker and card.
1) PJ Harvey - Dry - Demos - HAS sticker. presumably card, no "Autorip" from merchant
2) PJ Harvey - To Bring You My Love - Demos - HAS sticker. presumably card, HAS "Autorip" from merchant
3) PJ Harvey - Is This Desire? - Demos - no sticker. presumably no card, no "Autorip" from merchant
4) PJ Harvey - Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea - Demos - no sticker. presumably no card, HAS "Autorip" from merchant
5) PJ Harvey - Uh Huh Her – Demos - no sticker. presumably no card, HAS "Autorip" from merchant -
Edited 4 years agoI’m not sure if the demos are worth the price of ission. I have been getting all of the reissues and their demos. I didn’t think that the demos of To Bring You My Love made me wish to return to it preferring the original record instead. This one is a little bit better and I agree with someone else that she managed to add a new dimension to The Garden. I also enjoyed an unplugged The River. I wouldnt replace them for be sure however. Did she record these recently or did she leave them? In some of the tracks the vocals sound a little more recent. There was some surface noise in this record, most noticeably with Catherine but this does not bother me. Record collectors doth protest too much in general. Mine did not come with a card or promo sticker. This has happened with every release in 2021 after to bring you my love reissue snd demos and it’s wrong, it’s ripping off the buyer.

Fantastic, like all the LP demos so far but my Side A with A matrices has the Side B label. The real Side B has the Side B label, too.
-
my copy had no hype sticker, no DL code, and there is lots of surface noise on the quieter songs, which distracts from PJ's beautiful voice....
-
Wife and I each got a signed copy from PJ's website. Not sealed, no hype sticker and no DL codes. Album arrived in a plastic sleeve instead.

Great as all the Demos have been.
The particular highlight for me on this one is The Garden, sounds better in every way to the finished version. -
Fantastic recording, great pressing too. Mine was a totally flat pressing, no pop's or klick's.
Hype sticker and card included.
Bought in Sweden.

May have been unlucky. Having bought all the "demos" previously released on vinyl from 2020 and been very impressed with their mastering and overall sound quality. Upon listening to this album using my Pro-Ject Carbon/Ortofon 2m Blue I was very un-pleased with the loudness and a very heavy bass that caused distortion on certain tracks. I rate this as a very poor relation to all the other previous "Demo" releases.

Edited 4 years agoAn absolutely gorgeous record - quite possibly my favourite release of PJs' demos so far. This record can stand on its own as a more delicate, tender and subdued Is This Desire? The artwork reflects the delicacy of the record, so much that I'll be framing my signed copy (FINALLY able to get one!) and the inner sleeve.
Note: - I live in the UK and the unsigned copy came sealed with a hype sticker and both came with a DL code.
