Unique in Nesmith's catalog, this album ditches country rock for the most part, opting for a heavier, harder rock approach on a few songs, as he growls his way through "Factions" and experiments with something of a falsetto on the lighter "Magic". It's a diverse effort that works far more often than not, highlighted by "Crusin'", the amusing tale of Lucy, Ramona, and Sunset Sam. No issues with this pressing, it's got a punchy, full-bodied mix and a clear, uncluttered soundstage. My copy plays nice and clean with an occasional trace of faint surface noise.
