Edited 2 years agoThe pressing sounds good, but as always with Dead Oceans, the record is badly deformed ... Mine is like a plate: the edge is sticking out from the turntable all around. I don't know where Dead Oceans has the records produced, but it's very annoying ... I've noticed that for years with this label.

I washed this record in a Spin Clean and went over each side with an anti-static brush prior to my first listen.
There was some extremely minor noise at the start of Valentine, Texas because the song itself is so quiet. I've noticed some minor static noises on Everyone, The Only Heartbreaker, and Love Me More.
None of these are deal breakers for me but if you consider yourself an audiophile or only like absolutely flawless pressings this variant will likely bother you. I'll keep spinning it, and the variant itself is absolutely gorgeous. -
Got this one at the tour instead of the ‘tour exclusive’. Did anyone else get the D2C Exclusive at the tour?
The disc is really beautiful though -
The copy I ordered from the Secretly Store didn't come with a hype sticker...kind of a bummer. Everything is otherwise perfect lol

mine sounds absolutely amazing. there are a few clicks at the start of there’s nothing left for you but thats it!

I have the red/black version and it sounds very muddy and quiet. Even with the volume turned way up. Her vocals are pushed to the back and the bass is front and center. You can hear this on Heat Lightning the most.

Looks like the webstore variant is red on black and the Secretly Store variant is black on red. Hype sticker is the same.
