I dunno if I just got a bad press but mine was cut really quietly. Could've easily been like 3 or 4 dB louder. I do enjoy the semi-gloss finish on the cover but the records themselves weren't that good. Should I seek out an original or the green VMP pressing? For now I'll be sticking with the CD.

Sounds better than the CD I've listened to for years. This is such a great album, really takes you on a musical journey from top to bottom. This release sounds phenomenal. "Water World" is my all time favorite track off this album and it bumps hard coming off the wax, love it! "Sunshine" is my second favorite track and it just flows out the speakers with body and presence that fills the room with sound. A lot of these trip hop and underground hip hop albums get released super flat with an anemic soundstage, but this has avoided that pitfall. Discs are flat and without defects. Surface noise is minimal and the music itself rises above it. Stellar release.

Picked it up today and it sounds FANTASTIC! The discs pretty thick, have wonderful thumping bass, and clear highs! It's revealing instruments I never noticed before (in particular, this quiet synth lead on Sunshine), and this is an album I play often.
My only complaint is the packaging, not only is it a lame non-gatefold 2XLP, but the cardstock itself is very thin and obnoxiously glossy. It feels like photo paper.
That's all peanuts compared to how great this sounded for the price. Pick it up, fans of either prpducer or the project itself will not be dissapointed! -
Great pressing! It sounds amazing on my KRK speakers with Technics 1200s and the Shure Audiophile needle. Classic album for sure. Prince Paul is one of the best Hip Hop producers of ALL TIME. And Dan the Automator is incredible as well, so of course just the two of them together make a Super Group. Contains one of the best Del tracks ever with Magnetizing. I've been listening to that song for so many years, this pressing allowed me to discover new layers to the production. Wow! Love it!!!

Boggles the mind as to why they did not spend the extra few dollars and supply a decent carboard cover for this release? It is literally a notch thicker than paper.

This is so damn good. Probably my favorite pickup for RSD 2022 and an affordable copy at that. Bass is deep, flat records, no surface noise. Just gotta crank it up a bit since it was cut kinda low. Otherwise it's perfect.

The pressing is too bass heavy. I literally have to drop the bass on my mixer EQ. Why couldn't they get this right?
