Definitely a classic album. I purchased it from Blue Note Records and my copy is slightly cupped. I didn’t notice it on side 1 but when I flipped it to side B it was there. My Ultradeck has no problem tracking it and I didn’t notice any sound degradation as a result of it. My copy is dead quiet and sounds wonderful. 4.5 stars

It breaks my heart to rate this album so low. The music is some of the best, but this pressing is just horrible. After several wet washes, this brand-new record is littered with pops and clicks. It’s almost unlistenable. -
Edited 3 months agoI buyed this pressing from Amazon. On shrink wrap it was written “Made in Mexico”. A lot of clicks and pops, which are didn't gone after ultrasonic washing. LP are slightly off-centered, which makes it sounds really wows & flutter. A lot of skips, warped vinyl. Jacket quality is joke as well. Seems that Blue Note not going to give you quality release, if it's not tone poet. Better to save money and buy AP version. -
Mine seems to be some kind of variant. On Side A after the -59474- stamp the Roman numeral for one is etched not numeral two and there is no Roman numeral etched on Side B at all. -
Edited one year agoBought 35 CAD brand new sealed from an independent store. The music is awesome, but the quality of the pressing is terrible… My copy is heavily warped, my stylus goes up and down like crazy (it seems to be a common issue with this version). Mine also came with many scuffs, it doesn’t look like a “brand new” record at all… Number of clicks and distracting surface noise. The spindle hole is way too small/tight. There is some noticeable distortion on A7, especially when she pushes her voice. So, all in all, I'm pretty disappointed by the very poor quality of this pressing. It totally ruins this wonderful album and all the great mastering work behind it. Very frustrating and sad... Not recommended at any price point. 2/5 -
Mine is warped pretty heavily, I don't tihnk it's affecting the sound but it's pretty disconcerting seeing the cartridge bob up and down every rotation!

This vinyl sounds even better. -

Does anyone else feel like this was cut from digital? I have the AP version which I must say has a much better sound. This is dry and cold comparatively, I swear this is cut from digital. It sounds good but all the nuance and air is gone. -
This is definitely a winner in every way. Great soundstage, very smooth mastering and very quiet pressing. At this price point, a no brainer.
