Hardcore evolved throughout the years from the "soft" sounds of 1993 till the noisy, annoying and monotonus sound of today. With Thunderdome series we had the opportunity to explore the majority of this evolution. As an oldschool raver i'm trull sad when i listen the today's hardcore comparing with the 90's sound. From Thunderdome 9 till Thunderdome 17 you can relive all the magic and the melody of this music. This compilation (number xii), stands in the centre of this hardcore scene with melodies, distorted drums and bass lines, somehow acid tunes and pure happiness. Enjoy!!!!!

Edited 11 years agoMaybe it isn't the best TD but it's surely better than "The Revenge Of The Mummy". I especially like the tracks Psylocke - "Pump It" and DJ Rob - "DJ Rob's 20 Seconds" which are among my favourite ones.
-
Ravecore is right, this compilation was in the center of the happy stage. This stage began slowly around Thunderdome 7 and ended up around thunderdome 15/16, thunderdome 17 was from the more aggressive and dark side again, but in my opinion, each thunderdome has its own preferences...if you like the absolutely aggressive early acid-core stuff, listen to thunderdome 1-6, if you are of the happier sort, listen from 7-16, if you you are from the darker side, listen from 17 to open end...

Whilst this cd certainly isn't perfect it is not a bad cd (IMO).
This cd was made when Thunderdome was still in it's "happy" sounding stage - that is: pretty much happy hardcore with hard bass.
It was the 3rd Thunderdome I heard and I didn't like it at first but it grew on me.
So...it's average. Try Thunderdome 14 or 15 instead to see if you like this sort of music.
