Edited one year agoAmazing flat and quiet box set. Sounds great but sadly 2 of my records are damaged. One has horrible scuff mark and one a scratch across more than half the record. I’ll return it and update to see if the second box set is in good condition. Disappointed.
Edit. Replaced and all good! -

I was lucky enough to receive a copy from Resident which has been signed on the front of the box, beautiful.

Edited 2 years agoI wish they would celebrate the 30something anniversary with deluxe album reissues, that would be grand. The remix and rework idea was very cool, but I am personally disappointed of the result.
Most of the remixes are mediocre and uninspiring, AKA “boring”. The new track versions are an interesting insight in the sound of current Orbital live shows. But nothing changed drastically, nothing captured my attention in way that I would prefer this over the original version or other live versions. Also, I would love to hear a reworked version of Lush, such a big tune!
The best, grooviest remix of the collection is Dusky’s remix of Are We Here. It captures the dreamy vibe of the original, but at the same time brings a new, fresh take – a nice, pulsating 808 electro beat. Fantastic! It really stands out.
Octave One did a great job with Chime, turning it into a heavy dancefloor DJ tool/weapon. We heard Chime a zillion times, yet this fat beat really takes it up a notch. Sadly - not on vinyl.
Again, I would love to hear other producer’s interpretation of Lush. Maybe next time. -

love the boxed set, but pretty hate that there are missing 6 remixes. at least they should cut Eli Brown and Shanti Celeste remixes and replace them with Yotto and Lone remixes. also dunno why its not complete when there is space for more. Side A1 over 14 minutes, B1 almost 15 mins, A2 almost 15, B2 almost 14, A3 almost 17, B3 under 13, A4 under 14, B4 almost 20 minutes!! there could be pretty anything as on CD release... also, they could place full Rich NxT remix, as it was edited to fit CD. anyway, great record for a collection :)

Excellent release. Clean vinyl. Little hard to get the covers out of the box, but high quality packaging none the less. Not missing the additional mixes from the CD version at all. To be honest I usually stop after the second record with all their own versions.
Now please rerelease all your other records on vinyl, because I crave to get those in my collection. :)
