I have the 2011 release of this one and I just put it on this morning. Just sounds wonderful. I can really hear the gurgles and blips starting with "A Life of Possibilities". The synth sounds on here are top notch and just sound more alive on vinyl.

Thankfully, this sounds soooooooo much better than their RSD Change album. And with the addition of 4 extra songs and an extra insert with pictures and an interview, this is a must.

Edited one year agoOne of the cool things about the CD is how you can pick which image to slot in for the front cover. So I thought I'd try inverting the gatefold to put the spider image out front. I weighed the empty sleeve down with several 180g albums for 8 hours, and it held shape - though be warned it puts stress on the glue: what is now the inside unfortunately bubbles out a bit from the corners of the gatefold, but as there aren't any creases it's visually not too bad. After inversion the new front and back remain pristine and unwarped. I think it looks pretty cool to have my favourite cover image out front - but YMMV.

Edited one year agoI bought mine new from Amazon last week and it has the same runout as the 2011. The hype sticker, with same background and green frame as the one pictured on the 2011 page, has different text lineated like this:
The Dismemberment Plan
Emergency & I
180gram gatefold double LP includes 4 bonus tracks and lyric sheet
+ giant extra insert with liner notes & photo collage

Is this what everyone else got for the 2023 version? -
sounds like a dream. a lot wider and better sounding compared to the CD and digital. i don't really have any sibilance issues. literally no reason you shouldn't pick this up. do it before the vinyl goes out of stock again!
