The Corrs – Forgiven, Not Forgotten

I find the master volume to be a bit low compared to other records in my collection. If I don't adjust my volume before moving on to the next record of the day, I will get blasted and need to turn it down immediately. Really my only complaint. It still sounds fantastic when turned up.

I think people will be surprised by how decent this reissue sounds, considering it's made with recycled material. No surface noise; some sibilance spoils the "Erin Shore" traditional intro, but it quickly gets better track by track. Be aware that this is still a coloured vinyl version, most likely pressed from a CD source, so it will never get close to the 180g black vinyl edition released by Music On Vinyl back in 2017. The black record provided the listeners with an impressive dynamic range and warmth that this coloured one does not. The most crucial differences between the two discs can be heard on "Lough Erin Shore" (especially the celtic drum section), "Heaven Knows" (the drums, once again), "Closer", "Toss The Feathers" and "Secret Life". Don't worry if you missed the 2017 pressing, though. This 2023 version is still a good substitute.

Unlike the 2017 edition which suffered from blurry and unsatisfying scans, this 2023 reissue comes with a brand new artwork designed from Guzman's original negatives. The photographs have never looked so sharp and detailed! Unfortunately, this new design omits several elements from the 1995 artwork: no "Thanks" logo, no band close-up gallery, no stand-alone picture for the wooden ball, and the band shot used inside the gatefold is an alternate take of the actual shot for the CD traycard...! Those changes and omitions look kinda strange when one is used to the original art, but at least, they took the time to reproduce the celtic watermark as seen on the front cover... and the song lyrics are a nice addition, too.

Anyone can report how this sounds compared to the MOV release from a few years back?

Mine is a lovely dusky teal. The great thing about the album art is that pretty much any color vinyl matches it! Moreover, it sounds fantastic. Crisp and full.

My copy is purple with red and grey flecks throughout, stunning and sounds beautiful. Makes me incredibly excited for Talk On Corners to eventually be released.

I haven't listened the vinyl yet but I love the vinyl color. Mine is like dark algae green which accompanies the artwork well.

The record sounds fantastic. No surface sounds from what I can hear, and the music is very crisp and clear. My copy is grey with purple and green flecks throughout.
