Edited 15 years agowithout a doubt this is a great retrospective of Carlos Peron's early years, powerfully pressed, wonderfully designed and all... but!... if you're desperately searching for a piece of vinyl with that haunting and slightly extended version of Nothing Is True which was featured on Die Schwarze Spinne cd I must say this is not the one! the version featured here is basically the same as the one on the original Nothing Is True LP (at least on my copy hehe). direct your eyes onto Carlos Peron's Satyriasis - The Late Marylin 12" instead, B1 is the one you're searching for and you can buy it dirt cheap just because it wasn't hyped to death with all that AB fuss going on.

For sure, this is one of the greatest LD-releases. And this is a must have for early newbeat. The A-side is the greatest. Breakin In is a superb track and this Nothing is True-version is a never before issued. This one is shorter, but therefor not less stronger than what was on the official Nothing is true-LP. In those days newbeat was dark, spooky and danceable. Wanna taiste that atmosphere? Take this, it will serve you well!

Edited 19 years agoNothing Is True; Everything Is Permitted (Instrumental) is shorter than the version on the cd issue of "Die Schwarze Spinne" and that's sad as this song should last forever... Take the sound of early '80 electro-wave, mix it with the that filthy (slow) new beat BPM and add some gloomy dissonancy and this is what u get: A timeless dancefloor bomb. Essential!
