Purchased this album today. Listened in one go right after unpacking. Can say: true 4 out of 5. Overall, this album did not disappointed, but surprised me with 2000s vibes, well-known rap vocals by Mike Shinoda, and, which I was almost shocked, vocals by Emily Armstrong. I am a Linkin Park fan since "Living Things" (2012) and I did not expect this album to be so good.

    My Top-3 songs are:

    • From Zero & The Emptiness Machine - I heard this song right after the annoucement, and instantly liked it
    • Overflow - I can feel some 2000s Radiohead here. Like "Everything In Its Right Place"
    • Two Faced - classic 2000s. Just how I love by this band

so yeah this album is short, some songs are not that good and some are good, they got inspired by the past of the band, expecialy living things (for the music style) and meteora with some MtM riffs. so yeah for me it's a 6. too short. but you know what's not short? the digipak version of this cd. i hate it it's taller than all my collection (except for boxset and that ugly Testament Brotherhood of the snake) and for some reasons it won't close, it's always open. yesterday i was making space on my shelf for it and for some mystical reason the cd fell off, even tho it was standing straight. the booklet it's ok and yeah as MetalMan said, there are no good pictures of the new band

The music is a bit on the safe side, airing towards a Hybrid Theory style sound, probably to draw back old fans. Honestly, what I like about Linkin Park is how they experimented, in 2000 Hybrid Theory was experimental, today it's a bit stale. But their singer died and their drummer didn't come back, so I am still happy they're making music, and hopefully they find that spirit of experimentation a bit later.

The packaging is this awful slipcase that's become very normal for CDs, one star off is just for that. and I know it's supposed to be artsy, but of the four pictures of the band included, three of them are intentionally blurred almost beyond recognition, and yes, it is kind of cool, but it would have been nice to see the new faces and the old ones in a little more depth more than just in their solo pictures.
