Hard to believe that Miles recorded this and three other albums for Prestige in a few days just to fulfill his contract. This and Relaxin’, Steamin’, and ‘Cookin’ present a band running through standards with serious hard bop mastery. But this one is my fav—it’s like hearing a set in a club. The Japanese pressing in mono is exquisite.

Wonderful pressing for a wonderful record. Just from the beginning, the Piano intro of "It never entered my mind" gives me goose bumps until Miles enters playing that smooth melody which brings me on another planet that I only leave at the end of the disc. That session is just unique.
