Probably flogging a dead horse, but early into my picking up of vinyl collecting AGAIN after revisiting it again and again over the years, I got serious. Copping an original Siamese Dream at a swap, and was on the hunt for Gish. Figured it would be pricey, but surprisingly it was around $45 bucks! I was surprised at the time. Checked prices as time went on - that was like 3 -4 years ago - and Gish was still reasonable. Just Checked here now - well, there you go, the gouges raised it way up there, Nevermind the Millencollie box - reissues at $400 - $1000. I’m gonna predict Siamese is up to $300 ++

I have the original Gish album from Caroline records and I bought the reissue version. In comparison the reissue version is very good and true to the original version. The reissue has better bass and sounds crisp. On the original version the cymbals and guitars sound a bit more natural. Plus the sound-staging is a little better than the reissue. When price is really not a issue get the original. Otherwise get the reissue, it's about a third / half the price of the original version and really very damn good! If I had to buy Gish album, I would go for the reissue (normally I would always suggest the original. But in this case.... I wouldn't mind the reissue at all. It's a joy).
