Nice to hear a Garrick-free record by this band. I've heard enough of his stilted, contrived compositions and prissy piano playing. The other musicians are great, particular praise should go to Don Rendell for his masterly soprano sax playing.

Edited 9 years agoThe track "Blue Mosque" is pure class, never mind a British jazz classic. Just love it, one of my favourite jazz tracks ever. At just 4:10 in duration, it's neither too long, nor too meandering, simply holding one's attention and interest to the last. Beautiful.
FYI, the time signature is:
8 bars 4/4, 6 bars 3/4, 2 bars 4/4 – though it starts at the B section.
