    Album Revolution #2:

Ship Ahoy, Ship Ahoy, Ship Ahoy, Ship Ahoy!!!!! Once again "The O'Jays" behind the genius of "Kenny Gamble" & "Leon Huff" belt out another classic album in "Ship Ahoy".....

Again like with "Back Stabbers", the Social Consciousness is all over this record....6 of the 8 songs covers everything from abuse of money, to the polluted air.....

The album starts off with the "Spiritually" inspired "Put Your Hands Together" (1st Crown Jewel), which has so much power in trying to get People together...

The Ultimate, Ultimate, Ultimate, Ultimate, Ultimate, Ultimate Crown Jewel 9 plus minutes "Title Track" is an outright MASTERPIECE!!!!! From the moment you hear the Boat floating on the water, the Whips, then comes the Keyboards and Guitar riffs....And that was just the first 2 minutes....Then the music just comes in FURIOUS, with "The O'Jays" delivering Lyrics about Slavery that will BLOW YOUR MIND!!!!

"This Air I Breathe" (the 3rd Crown Jewel) is a perfect reminder of how precious our air really is...

Another Ultimate Ultimate Ultimate Crown Jewel, "You Got Your Hooks In Me", is really another power Slow Song....This one about no matter how bad the relationship, they just can't tear themselves away from each other....

The other Ultimate, Ultimate, Ultimate, Ultimate, Ultimate Crown Jewel, "For The Love Of Money", is the perfect, perfect, perfect way in showing how people view the "LOVE" of money and how powerful it is, and how it can make people do crazy and stupid things....

"Now That We Found Love" (another Ultimate, Ultimate, Ultimate, Ultimate Ultimate Crown Jewel and my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE on the album), has a dreamy "Soulful" Melody that really captures you, and really makes you think about why we just can't love each other...

I have to it when I was younger, the 7th Crown Jewel in "Don't Call Me Brother", wasn't one of my favorites....Now being older, I not only love it, I constantly repeat it...The message of watching who your associates are is priceless!!!!

"People Keep Tellin' Me" is cool, but compared to the other songs, it is just ok...

This album showed that "The O'Jays" made the right decision to hook up with "Gamble & Huff"...The pairing was very beneficial for both Producers and group, and with that, "The O'Jays" found that special something that was missing (the power to deliver great messages)....

From the expressive album cover to the material inside, this is defiantly one of the best albums of "The O'Jays" long career......

Epic record here with a serious message. Very revolutionary and artistic yet maintains the O'Jays style. Big studio production as to be expected. For The Love Of Money might of been the big hit here but there are so many more huge songs on this release. I absolutely love the O'Jays, probably the best soul group of all time. I don't think they ever had a bad record and this one is in the top three in my opinion. You can not go wrong with the O'Jays and this record is one of thier best
