Edited 3 months agoOh man, this is the best sounding Led Zeppelin release I own. So 3D sounding and the music just swirls around you as you listen. Wish Immigrant Song had a wee bit more punch, maybe it was the way it’s recorded, but everything else sounds just magic, especially the acoustic tracks. If you can get this at a decent price go for it, you won’t be disappointed.

Goddaaaaaam, this is one monster pressing!! The realism and detail from the master tape is stunning and low end just crushes it. I own at least 7-8 different pressings of this and this one wins. Now for the bad, it's a noisy press, quite a few po p s (lost track?) and1-2 skips. BUT it sounds so amazing I'm keeping this $200 record...

This is the best of the 2007 classic pressings in my opinion. Best sounding Lz3 album pressing, hands down.

Side 2 is where this version really shines. It's perfectly balanced and on the warm side. Just beautiful tones from the acoustic guitars and crisp vocals that are pulled back just before becoming sibilant. The layers on That's the Way are just spectacular. And when the acoustic bass comes in it just rumbles beautifully but the plucked notes are also quite distinguishable. Bron-Y-Aur is another audible gem. Nothing gets lost in the mix and there's a lot in there. Maybe the vocals are a little recessed, but that's a really minor quibble. I don't have a UK plum to compare but I cannot imagine it topping this version at least as far as Side 2.
But Side 1 sounds pretty great as well. Since I've Been Loving You is also really well balanced and has a nice punch and depth, and the squeaky foot pedal to boot!! -
If your system is such that it can display the benefits of this pressing then it’s well worth shelling out the now rather high prices these classic records releases command .
This is the pressing I’ve been dreaming of hearing Zep III sound like since I first heard it 30 years ago. The warmth and detail that comes forth just blows me away. The soundstage is huge and the bass is floor board rattling .
In a recent interview the founder of classic records said these releases were highly unlikely to ever see the light of day . For Zep fans the world over , that’s a tragedy . Nothing comes close , not even a first press . 5 star pressing for a 5 star album . -
Overall a fantastic pressing. I also was disappointed with Immigrant Song - it really lacked the punch I was expecting and I questioned if I had made a mistake purchasing this pressing. Then as it rolled into Friends, I noticed the wow factor I was anticipating. Quiet pressing with excellent soundstage. You even get the drum pedal squeak in Since I've Been Loving You. Highly recommend this pressing!

All the 220gr. classic editions are great, this is for sure no exception, a true gem and maybe the best edition for your money

Why do some of these Zep 200g come factory sealed and others with the classic records sticky label stuck over a plastic sleeve? Are they both classed as Mint?
