In reference to variant 1. The 2 channel pcm is 48kHz and sounds epic, but very aggressive. The videos have different mixes and are a very good reason to have this, as well.
-
The 5.1 DVD Audio mix of The Downward Spiral is stunning. Through the entire album, instruments and vocals unexpectedly swirl around the room or are separated into the rear surround channels. It has some shared elements with the stereo mix, but the placement of instruments and sounds give the album a completely different feel. Highly recommended.
-
This album sounds amazing in surround sound. Trent mixed the album in 5.1 and did a killer job. This is out of print but easy to find used and sealed.
