[record 1 inner sleeve]
Recorded on Amek Big Desk and Alesis Adats at St Catherines Court, Avon and Haremere Court, Sussex
Lyon/Smith mixes created on Neve VRP desk and stuff... at St Catherines Court, Avon
Mastered at Metropolis, London
"As we grow older we grow
both more foolish and wiser
at the same time..."
La Rochefoucauld
[misspelled 'La Rouchefoucald']
Released in a single pocket wide spine matt sleeve. There is a stretched image on the spine of the clockwork clown from the sleeve front, but the spine picture includes its body.
Picture/lyric inner sleeves, side opening.
The track "Strange Attraction" (Record 1, Side 2) has a flaw in the middle of the song (at around 1:36), there is a split second missing (no silence). It must be a manufacturing flaw, it's only on this European pressing of this album.

Some friendly advice to those of you who bought the RSD picture disc: take the records out of the plastic PVC inners it comes in and replace them with paper ones or master sleeves. You’ll thank me later down the road.

Edited 3 years agoThis album feels like The Top part 2. An album in-between other albums. Yet the use of horns and strings at least sets it a bit apart from other Cure albums. 14 tracks are however too much, a couple or three could have been relegated to b-sides (like Strange Attraction and Gone) to make it a more consistent listening experience. The 13th also seemed a very strange choice for first single, when songs like "Return" are about.
To make the most of this album IMO is to listen to: Want - Jupiter Crash - Numb - Bare -
This is faaaaaaar from the worst album they ever made. Both THE TOP and the self titled album are monumentally worse than this. It’s got some great moments on it. Can’t wait for this to get reissued. Both this and WISH. Tons of albums from the 90s are in dire need of a reissue.

Edited 4 years agoA very collectable album for any vinyl collector. Shame it's the worst album they ever made. Probably why it hasn't been reissued at this point.
