Edited 2 years agoI don't quite recognize the scores from the film on this one. They seem to have been re-made and overlaid with studio gimmicks to a large extent.
I much prefer the Original 1980 Score Cues that was released in 2012.

Pressed in Japan, this CD release offers a stellar soundstage, a crisp intimate electronic suite with deep primal bass response and bright chiming highs. Long before "loudness wars" were a thing, this pressing somehow feels closer to the source than subsequent releases I have purchased. (when I say "closer to the source" I am referring to how clean and upfront the audio seems without forcing volume upon the listener... every single subtle touch is clearly evident and the listening experience is all the better for it).
Alternate takes were utilized in some cases for the film proper, but as a soundtrack to a much-loved film, this is by far my go-to version. -
