I wanna tell you a story as Max Bygraves said. (Johnny would appreciate that)
Around this time 77 I would normally buy all my records from Virgin Records Brighton.
One of the shops that was told to remove their window display showing nothing from floor to ceiling the cover of Bollocks. (The authorities later losing the case I believe) Having waited an eon for this album to finally come out it came as a great disappointment as we had already bought a chunk of the album as 7” singles and we had moved on. Wire anyone?
Any way money was short for a 17 year old punk who was pissed off with the Pistols for ripping us off, the beginning of what was to become their manifesto. So instead of buying this at Virgin with the the blank back cover or with the free 7” now worth considerably more I bought it from one of the straight shops in the town. Tilbury Gig I believe as they would sell the Top Ten LP’s a whole £1 Off.
Well that was this version so although this gets referred to as an early version it actually came out the same week but just sent to less trendy shops.
Damn if only I had that extra quid.

This pressing sounds awesome - a deep, rich sound. It's a keeper

By method of deduction, I think this is my version. But my version also has a dust sleeve with photos and text and what's supposed to look like handwriting.

If you look at the matrix on side A it also looks like someone has scratched the word "tone" into it just along from the 9, and upside down. Is this the one?
