Edited 19 years agoWell, Boards of Canada finally did it. They've become too organic to be called 'electronic' anymore. Sure, elements are still there, but listening to the chopped-up guitar samples, the piano, and the sheer nostalgic feel of these songs and the first word that comes to your mind definitely isn't 'electronic'. This is a truly excellent album in every way possible. "Satellite Anthem icarus" and "Oscar See through Red Eye" are two examples of BoC's best work to date, but the best track here is by far "Dayvan Cowboy"...fuzzed-out guitar at the beginning, leading into guitar riffs, drums, piano...it's truly beyond words. Do NOT miss this album, you will be sorry if you do!

Edited 19 years agoFoolishly they bigged up Bibio's 'FI' album...and then ripped it off for this album. Part of this album leans heavily on Bibio's style of recording acoustic guitars on old knackered cassettes then sampling it...other tracks sound like....erm...Zero7..other tracks sound like the _Cathode track 'This Just In'...a hazy MBV-go-digital clicktronica piece of utter beauty..B.O.C cant beat that. I said to people as a joke that the next B.O.C release would be a hippy ambient new-age folk album...AS A JOKE!..how right i was! The remixes got more mellow and hippyish...that was the give away...now they've released an album of....digital folk! ..grab the 'Unreleased Demo' if you can from unnamed sources...
