Slight marble/opaque red on my copy. MoFi sleeves. The records had some paper particles that wiped off fine. The artwork is beautiful. Sound is really good. It’s very quiet and I hear things I didn’t notice before. Very well balanced. Just an awesome record.
-
The opening 20 seconds are a noisy, popping mess and eventually it skips abruptly into the vocals. It’s a shame because it’s my favorite song on the album, and it kind of kills the magic of listening to it front to back a bit, especially when the pressing otherwise seems decent.
-
As others have said, more of an opaque red than marble on my copy. Decent amount of surface noise at times. Not enough to mess with the music, but annoying between tracks.
-
red opaque, all good. my pressing sounds remarkable, far superior to the digital. the guitar's shimmering ethereal tone alone makes this a must have for fans of the band. no surface noise to speak of on my copy.

Edited 4 years agoMine came in as an opaque red rather than red marble. Leaves me feeling like I got ripped off and that this is some sort of bootleg. If anyone could explain why mine and seemingly many others are like this rather than a red marble, it would be greatly appreciated.
I would like to say that I leave a five star rating only because I consider this to be a perfect album. I do not consider this pressing to be "five stars" for it's not even what I wanted to get. -
The music is obviously wonderful, but the vinyl pressing leaves to be desired. Mine has some surface noise and the sound quality sounds lossy. At least the packaging is very good.

It is listenable, but very noisy, generally got a better experience listening digital, it’s a real shame because this would have sounded great with a descent cut / pressed on black. Not too sure what sort of source audio has been used here but even if it was good it would still have been let down by the poor pressing. I guess this could be down to the red marbled vinyl, colour always sounds worse so I guess a mix of colours will only add noise, although I have some marbled vinyl that sounds great.
My copy showed up with a weird lump of something embedded in the vinyl itself on side B, pretty shocking QC to have missed that. I emailed Poly Vinyl and fortunately they have agreed to send out a replacement copy, so fingers crossed that one is a little better.
The music itself is of course sublime. American Football at the time we’re emo pioneers and this is an iconic, seminal album. -
Edited 6 years agoMy A-side is abysmal. Nonstop crackling throughout Never Meant and the rest of the side. The other sides sound fine, but jeeeesus this is horrific. I'm guessing I'm unlucky as I haven't seen too many people run into this issue.

Thinking of selling my SIGNED copy of this variant. It was hand-signed by the entire band at Reading a few years ago, INCL. BOTH KINSELLAS, STEVE HOLMES AND STEVE LAMOS (the full band.) No idea how much this is worth since I've never seen one signed before so if someone has an idea of an offer or would tell me its rough value, would be much appreciated.
