This is an excellent sounding reissue.
1. Bass sounds like the bassist is playing from a bass amp in my room
2. The drum sounds realistic and very dynamic
3. Vocal could’ve been a bit higher in the mix (I feel like EQ in mastering affected this).
Now the thing I wish sounded more upfront is the guitar. It’s very present but the EQ choice made it a bit less vibrant. This probably helped to make it sound less harsh (but more sterile).
Otherwise good sounding record and worth every dollar. -
Possibly my favourite pressing of this album. Audio levels, mix and tone spot on; no pops or background noise. Angular guitar comes through without being too splinteringly trebly. Fairly heavy vinyl, perfectly flat, and no skimping on the quality of sleeve and jacket.

Sounds awesome to these ears! Very loud, punchy, and full of energy in each song! Guitar sounds very good especially

Does this have the full version of "I found that essence rare" on it??? The latest Matador pressing does not and I'm looking for something new that kind of matches my old original copy that has given up the ghost.
-
Pressing quality is superb. Definitely digitally sourced. Top end is tweaked a bit too much, causing occasional sibilance and mistracking for the final six minutes of each side on my tt. Sound quality is still excellent overall. Very punchy low end!
-
Quite a good pressing indeed, but unfortunately the LP jacket that came with it had a noticeable tear at the top. Aside from that though, very happy with the quality.

Edited 5 years agoExcellent pressing - the guitars sound really crunchy and the bass is deep with good attack. Cranking up the volume produces no distortion and there are no crackles or pops.
One of the most influential and important album ever! Enough said :)
