All time classic house track, way ahead of its time when released. All the elements just seem to work perfectly from that crazy piano & line that has been samples so many times & I am sure will be used countless times in the future, to funky the bassline, lovely synth loop that is now a quintessential house sound through to the vocals.

Edited 19 years agoAlmost without any effort at all, many people will claim this as one the quintessential dance tunes of all time. For something that emerged in 1986, there's little doubt that its hallmark "house music" sound was years ahead of its time, and despite it being tightly based on a relatively little known R&B track by Imagination, many will credit Marshall Jefferson's timeless classic as lighting the way for future House producers. Having said all that, there is still something bizarrely corny (or perhaps insidiously gay) about this Chicago classic. It must be the way the remarkably simple piano hook integrates with the bassline, or maybe it's just that feeling you get when you're waiting for the chorus to kick in. Whatever it is, this track seems to have a leg over either side of the fence separating the dairy from the meat.

What can I say about this track? Absolutely fabulous. It's really unbelievable that someone released a song like that in 1986. One of the songs that pavemented the path for modern House Music. With House Music you can't go wrong!
